Forum Upgraded to SMF2.0

The forums have just finished an upgrade to version 2.x of the Simple Machines Forum software. The update is something that I had been dreading for quite some time, but everything actually went surprisingly smoothly.

The new version looks quite a bit more spiffy than the old one and the pages seem to load faster now. Things should operate pretty much the same as they did before. The one change however is in the way new members register.

Suffice it to say that spam bots would very quickly overrun the forum if preventative measures were not in place. One of these measures includes requiring admin approval for a brand new member’s first two posts (or topics).

Everything should still work the same, but your first two posts will not be viewable for other members until I have the chance to verify that they are not spam.

After your first two posts have been approved, you will be able to use the forum like normal.

Note that this will replace the old method of spam prevention which required new members to email me when they first joined.

Finally, if anybody has trouble with the new forum, please let me know.

Thanks!
